GTA 6 Serious RP Servers

A server where players stay in character at all times, with strict enforcement of rules against meta-gaming, power-gaming, and fail-RP. Long-running storylines, deep character work, and structured city systems define the experience.

Most serious servers prefer 6+ months of prior RP experience. Some accept newcomers with a strong application and a willingness to learn, but expect a probation period and active mentorship from veterans during your first weeks.

Typically 2 to 7 days. The fastest serious servers turn around applications in 24 hours; the slowest take 2 weeks. Slow turnaround usually correlates with weak staff capacity, which shows up later in slow rule enforcement and ticket response.

Only in genuine emergencies (technical issues, real-world crisis). All other communication stays in character. Most serious servers provide a /me command for descriptive actions and a separate OOC chat that's heavily moderated to stay quiet during active scenes.

Standard escalation: verbal warning, formal warning logged on Discord, temporary character ban (24 to 72 hours), and finally a permanent server ban for repeat offences. Major violations like RDM, VDM, or metagaming usually skip directly to a temp ban with appeal rights.

Most serious servers use 'soft permadeath' — characters can survive most situations through medical RP, but a major scene with player consent (called a CK, character kill) ends the character permanently. Random deaths from vehicle accidents are usually recoverable; deaths in planned conflict often are not.

Most are. The mature themes (drug RP, violence, complex political scenarios) lend themselves to adult communities, and the application process can verify age in regions where it's legally required. Some 16+ serious servers exist with strict adult-content boundaries.

Yes. Serious RP communities understand that real life takes priority. Most servers allow 30 to 90 days of inactivity before any consequence; some just keep your whitelist active indefinitely. Communicate longer absences with the staff so your character isn't written into ongoing storylines without you.
