GTA 6 Serious RP Servers

A server where players stay in character at all times, and no meta-gaming, power-gaming or fail-RP is tolerated. The focus is on long-term story arcs, extensive character development and structured city systems.

Most serious servers prefer 6+ months of previous RP experience. Some will take newcomers with a solid application and a drive to learn, but expect a probation period and active mentorship from veterans for your first few weeks.

Normally 2-7 days. The fastest serious servers turn applications around within 24 hours; others may take up to 2 weeks. Slow turnaround generally indicates weak staff capacity, which also shows up later in slow rule enforcement and ticket response.

Only in actual emergencies (tech problems, a real-life crisis). Everything else stays in character. Most serious servers have a /me command for descriptive actions and a separate OOC channel that's heavily moderated so it doesn't interrupt active scenes.

A verbal warning, a formal warning (recorded on Discord), a temporary character ban (24 to 72 hours) and then a permanent server ban for repeat offences. Major violations (RDM, VDM, metagaming) usually go straight to a temp ban, with the right to appeal.

Most serious servers use some form of 'soft permadeath': characters can survive most situations through medical RP, and a character is only killed permanently in a major scene with player consent (known as a CK, character kill). Random deaths, like vehicle accidents, are usually recoverable; deaths in planned conflict often aren't.

Most are. Mature themes (drug RP, violence, complicated political situations) lend themselves to adult communities, and the application process can verify age in areas where it's required by law. Some 16+ serious servers exist, with strict adult-content boundaries.

Yes. Serious RP communities recognise that real life always comes first. Most servers allow 30-90 days of inactivity before any action is taken; some will simply keep your whitelist active indefinitely. Tell staff about extended absences so your character isn't written into ongoing storylines without you.
